Iran to compete at world blind judo tournament

TERHAN, June 27 (MNA) – Iran’s blind and poor-sighted judokas leave here for Paris in the wee hours of Wednesday to compete at the world tournament.

 

Under Khosrow Golkar, Saeid Rahimi, Mehdi Pour-Abbas, Navid Farrokhzad, Seyyed Amir Mir-Hassan, Hamzeh Nuri, and Ali Khalidi represent the country in the -60kg, -66, -73, -81, -100, and +100 categories respectively.

 

Iran has no representative in the -90kg as the visa was not issued on time.

 

The French capital hosts the individual event from June 30 to July 1 and team competitions on July 2.

 

Iran finished runner-up in the previous edition with two golds and one bronze won by a three-strong team.
